Congratulations Oley Valley Organics!  The farm was selected to receive a grant from the Pennsylvania "Path to Organic" Program for 2010.  This grant will assist us in taking the final, necessary steps towards achieving certification from the Pennsylvania Certified Organic organization.

Organically Grown Asparagus, Strawberries and Raspberries

 Asparagus

Our organically-grown aspargaus is the Jersy Giant variety.  This variety produces a large spear with a delicate taste.  Our aspargaus harvest begins in mid-April and lasts about three weeks.  Currently we have thirty-four rows of asparagus each about 100 yards long.  In 2007 we planted 12,000 asparagus roots.  The aspargaus beds take about five years to fully mature. Click on the pictures for a larger image.

Strawberries

We Pick or You Pick!  In mid-May we begin harvesting our organically-grown strawberries.  We have the Early Glow, Honeoye and Jewel varieties.  Click on the pictures for a larger image.

Red Raspberries

Our organically-grown, red raspberry varieties are the Heritage and Killarney.  The first harvest begins in mid-June and lasts for about four weeks.  Our second harvest beginning in mid-September which lasts about one month.  Click on the pictures for a larger image.
